Bowl base.png

Q: How many calories are in your bowl?
The base only has about 250 - 300 calories. Please note, the total calorie count of your bowl will vary on your choice of toppings.

Q: What kind of acai and pitaya do you use? Is it organic?
We looked far and wide and picked the best one out there. Our acai is sourced from Amazon Planet, and our pitaya is sourced from Pitaya Plus. We chose these brands because they are incomparably pure (no preservatives, colors or flavors), which means they are 100% acai and 100% dragon fruit. They are also organic, gluten free, dairy free, and vegan. Click on the links above to learn more.

Q: Are the fruits in your base organic?
Some of are fruits are, some are not. As much as would want all our sourced fruits to be organic, our daily purchase of fruit depends on seasonality, cost, and freshness.

Q: Do you use organic fruit?
Some of are fruits are, some are not. As much as would want all our sourced fruits to be organic, our daily purchase of fruit depends on seasonality, cost, and freshness.

Q: What does it mean when a fruit is “in season?” Sadly, fruit is one of the most inconsistent fruits out there when it comes to taste. For example, with vegetables you can expect it to taste the same all year round. With fruit, there’s seasonality, which ensures better tasting fruit when it’s “in season.” When you eat fruit that thrives in the current season, you are eating fruit that tastes at it’s optimal best. You are also doing good for your local farmer, body, and wallet. Currently, you can see the seasonal fruit we offer by checking out our fruit board at the Arts District store.

Q: How many calories are your smoothies?
About 200 - 250 calories.

Q: Do you add juice in your smoothies?
Nope. Our establishment is juice free. Your smoothie is made with 100% fruit.

Q: Are your smoothies vegan, dairy free and organic?
Vegan and dairy free, yes. Organic, no.

Q: What kind of sugar do we use at Amazebowls?
We keep our bowls – the base and toppings – as clean and wholesome as possible! In other words, we only use whole fruits (and optional agave syrup topping – we’ll explain this more below). No fruit juices or any other secret ingredients, we promise.

Q: If I eat Amazebowls, am I increasing my sugar intake with all that fruit?
Great question! This topic is incredibly important to us, so we wrote a blog post to explain it. You can access it here.

Q: What is the difference between fruit sugar and refined sugar?
Great question! This distinction is incredibly important to us, so we wrote a blog post to explain it. You can access it here.

Q: Do you use agave? Why do you use it?
Agave nectar (most known as agave syrup) is a popular sweetener in the natural health community, and is often touted as a healthy alternative to regular sugar. While the jury is out on whether agave is wholly and definitively a healthier substitute, the key here is moderation. When we get fruit that’s lacking taste due to season, we may add one tablespoon of agave, but never more than that – we’re serious about keeping our products with minimal non-fruit sugar.

Q: Do you have sugar in your granola?
Our chocolate, peanut butter, vanilla almond granola have small amounts of brown sugar. If you want a sugar free option, we offer a sugar free granola that has zero sugar and is sweetened with just bananas. There are a couple other options to have little to no sugar for your granola topping:

1. A sugar free crunch alternative we like is using a blend of almond bits, cacao nibs, flax seeds, and chia seeds instead of granola.

2. You can ask for light granola, or a blend of sugar free and another choice of granola. The key here is also moderation.

We are working on expanding our sugar free granola line… more to come soon!

Q: Is your granola organic?
All our granolas are organic.

Q: Is your granola vegan?
Yep.

Q: Do you offer gluten free granola?
Yep.

NUTTY.png

Q: What’s in your nut butter?
Brazilian nuts, Almonds, Pecans, Filberts, Cashews, Hint of Salt.

Q: Is your nut butter vegan, gluten free, and dairy free?
Yes to all the above!

Q: If I have a nut allergy, what products at Amazebowls should I avoid?
Definitely avoid the nut butter and almond bits. We also wouldn’t suggest any of our granolas as they are made in in a facility that uses nuts. If you’re looking for a crunch (nut free) substitute, we suggest adding cacao nibs, hemp hearts, chia seeds, and/or flax seeds instead!

Q: What kind of protein do you use?
We use Epic Protein which is completely plant based. Epic Protein uses 100% whole food ingredients. No flavoring, no gums, no thickeners – just pure plant nutrition. Protein is vegan, organic, gluten free, dairy free, sugar free. Click on the link above to learn more.

Q: Where do you source your blue spiurlina and activated charcoal?
We’ve looked far and wide for this one too. Believe it or not, we get it sourced all the way from Stockholm by a company named, Raw Nice. We chose Raw Nice because they share the same values as us: vegan, 100% natural, gluten free, and they make healthy eating fun and colorful! If you would like to purchase your own powders to make fun superfoods at home, use “amazebowls” at checkout for 15% off your order.
